Music event: On June 10, I had the great opportunity to go see the Perez Prado Orchestra at Orchard Hall (Bunkamura) in Shibuya. Perez Prado was the King of Mambo, and his followers are still performing as probably the largest (14 musicians) and most authentic mambo orchestra still around. The large venue had a seated audience of thousands, mostly elderly (I was one of the youngest there, and probably the only foreigner too..!).
That was a great show! Though I still prefer Tokyo Panorama Mambo Boys. :)

Exhibition: Stumbled by chance upon a nice exhibition of Maruyama Yuki. The artist makes traditional Japanese paintings of various animals, often with a touch of humor. You can see some here and here. This is on at Silkland Gallery in Ginza until June 23.
