Blog - New feature: RSS comments

Technology New feature: RSS comments

I've added a new feature to the blogs on this site, RSS comments. In each comments popup window there's now a RSS link which you can add to your feed reader in order to be notified when comments are added to this specific thread.

So if you're eager for an answer to a comment you posted, or if you're waiting to see the next comments on an interesting topic, that can now be done automatically.

Update (2004/9/21 10:54): There's now a feed of the most recent comments site-wide. RSS

Comments RSS

that's a brilliant idea.

...now if there was only a way to stop spammers from posting on the comments.

The *only* prollem with that is it becomes a nightmare to manage such "temporary" RSS feeds (from the user end I mean)...

I prefer providing a single RSS feed of the last, say, 20-30 comments...

Brent:
Yeah... :)

Boris:
In the software I use, subscribing to a feed is a matter of a drag & drop, and unsubscribing to one is a matter of one click and hitting the delete key. I see how it could be a pain through a Web interface for example, but anyway.
I agree that a "all comments" feed can be more useful to some regular readers/posters on a site where there aren't so many comments overall. So I guess it's a matter of preference. I'll try to offer that too. :)
