Japan Nakano Tokyo After Hours Postal Service Counter

Some people who I've told that my local post office is open 24 hours have trouble believing me. So here are some pictures to prove it. :)

Some large post offices in Tokyo are open 24 hours. Nakano post office actually has an "After Hours Postal Service Counter", open when the main post office area is closed.

Busy Sunday afternoonOpening hours: Weekdays 0-9/19-24, Saturdays 0-9/17-24, Sundays/Holidays 0-9/12:30-24When the clerk isn't around, wake him up!

I use 24-hour service at Meguro Post Office sometimes, but most of the things can be taken care of at convenience stores where they have delievery services by Yamato (Kuroneko) or Nittsu (Pelican).

ha ha! I almost peed in my pants with excitement at this news! It's 11:27 p.m. on Jan 1st, I am in Nakano and I HAVE NO MONEY!
I used a precious 500 yen coin to get into this Net Cafe (the Mangaland one near Nakano-dori) to search about how to get money around New Years' after making the typical gaijin mistake of not stocking up.

Will check the rest of your blog later...tah!

Hmmm, good luck. If you have a credit card you can withdraw from you may want to try an ATM that accepts them, though they're unlikely around this time.
