konishi remixes
konishi has done a number of remixes for various artists over the years. listed below are some of the ones which i know about! if you know of any more, please let me know. all releases listed are japanese unless otherwise noted.
too shy shy boy! - the readymade catchy mix (7:22)
the first mix sounds a lot like "the night is still young" - it has a similar sort of feel and even uses a few of the same samples (the piano glides in particular). the "new stereophonic sound spectacular" sample even makes an appearance here!
the second remix is a pleasant laid-back, late night sort of groove.
the lover in you - the sound of readymade mix (4:38)
this remix is almost identical to the original mix of "happy sad"!
k jungle - the sound of readymade mix (4:45)
coba is a famous japanese accordionist (he performed on bjork's latest album). he has also worked with kahimi karie on the track "tiny king kong".
this track is an uptempo jazzy, lounge track featuring busy "dum-da-ba-da-ba-dum" type backing vocals!
sacré francais - the ready made happy charm fool mix (5:29)
i love the gentle people - remixed by konishi yasuharu (10:05)
a long remix with lots of uptempo latin rhythms, vocal samples of the gentle people and not too much instrumentation. not bad, but there are better remixes on this cd.
rewind (lotus eater on a pale fountain mix) - performed by london electricity
brass, guitar pop, vocal harmonies and subtle drum'n'bass samples are combined in this remix. i have no idea what the original version sounds like. this remix is not too bad, but the song doesn't really grab me.
lupin the 3rd theme song - the readymade oh! oh! mix
a 60's/spy music/latin/bossa nova blend - very nice!
girl of legend - the legendary readymade mix (6:33)

a nice little remix, although it's not radically different from the original version, the track has a more drum'n'bass-ish feel. incidentally, i highly recommend the dimitri from paris album (sacre blue).
